Surface Workshop with Sara Ballek

Join Sara Ballek for a 2 week workshop in the studio as she walks you through her process on creating colorful compositions on functional forms! She will be working with a dark red clay body that fires at mid-range temperatures to create rich, distinctive, vibrant, pattern-filled pots.Through this workshop, participants will learn about mixing underglaze colors, applying slips, surface design processes, refining the details, and how to finish pieces after glazing. This workshop is perfect for seasoned beginners and beyond! We recommend students have some working knowledge of basic ceramic concepts in order to take this class, but it will have something for all levels.
