Our Story
So often when someone has a vision with risks seeming to outweigh a positive outcome, perseverance and dedication are the fuel that keeps them focused on a dream. In the case of the American Art Clay Company, Inc., more commonly referred to as Amaco, a bit of craziness, passion, and dedication have served us well. AMACO continues to be a leader and innovator for ceramics in the areas of art, technology, and education.
Our History
Not many companies can say that they’ve been in business for 100 years and counting–and almost anyone would agree that such longevity is a pretty remarkable event. American Art Clay Company, Inc. (AMACO) is proud to claim this distinction, celebrating with a new building, new products, and an optimistic outlook for the next 100 years. In 2004, AMACO moved to new facilities with 50% more space than their former building. It was no small task to move a company of this size… it took 120 trailers to transport inventory, furniture, and equipment from the old building to their new location.
