Event Description

In this class we will learn to create bold linework and vibrant paintings on ceramic forms. Working with greenware, students will learn slip-inlay techniques and how to create a variety of line qualities using different tools and materials. Laurie will also cover painting with underglaze on bisqueware to get a vibrant watercolor effect. Additionally, we will discuss sprigs and small 3D additions that make a narrative illustration pop.

In this course, Laurie will be working with a porcelain that provides a nice blank canvas for dark line work and bright underglazes. Students should have experience building forms to decorate and an understanding of the ceramic process. Knowledge of how to mix glazes is helpful but not required.
