Underglaze Craze: Tips, Tricks, and Creative Techniques with Jessie Schoenrock

Got a thing for underglaze? In this beginner-friendly workshop, ceramic artist Jessie Schoenrock will teach you everything you need to know about underglaze: what it is, why it’s awesome, and how to use it. Whether you’ve just started working with clay or you’re already throwing pots like a pro, this class is all about exploring creative ways to decorate your work.

In this 3-hour workshop we’ll turn clay tiles into your personal canvases for creativity. Each participant will get six leather-hard tiles to decorate with underglaze techniques that are easy to learn and fun to master. You will try techniques like layering, sgraffito (that’s carving for cool textures), and design transfers. Once your tiles are finished, Jessie will take care of the firing and glazing to make them shiny, durable, and ready to show off! Finished work should be ready to pick up in about 3 weeks.
