Lace Mold Bowl ft. C-29
In this video we demo a super simple way to add texture to a bowl using lace patterns that you can pick up at your local craft store!
This bowl is glazed with C-29 Deep Sea and PC-41 Vert Lustre!
Create a Bowl using Lace
- Roll a slab
- Compress on both sides
- Lay the lace pattern on the slab
- Gently press the lace into the clay with a rolling pin
- Cut around the shape of the lace
- Drape the slab into a bowl mold
- Carefully peel off the lace
- Once the clay is firm, remove the slab from the mold
- Tap the bottom of the bowl on a flat surface to create a foot
- Flip the bowl upside down and allow it to dry. Doing this helps prevent cracking
- Once dry, bisque fire to cone 04
- Use a damp sponge to wipe away dust
- Apply 3 coats of C-29 Deep Sea using an AMACO Fan Brush.
- Apply 3 coats of PC-41 Vert Lustre around the rim
