Making Test Tiles
Even when you use commercially prepared glazes, you should test your glazes. Here we show you three methods for making test tiles and recording the results. Happy glazing!
Supplies
- Extruder Hand STD (Brent)
- Textured Clay Rollers Class Pack 4 1/4"

Extruded Tiles
The brent extruder comes with a tile die. Extrude and cut to size.
Thrown Tiles
Throw a ring on the wheel and cut it into wedges.
Slab Built Tiles
Roll out a slab and texture as you would your hand built ware. Cut into strips. Fold to make an upside-down T. Side view shown.
