How to Build a Paper Bag Lantern

  1. Roll out a slab
  2. Use templates to cut the sides and base
  3. Bevel the edges
  4. Slip and score the edges. Join into a box shape
  5. Add coils to the seams. This helps reinforce the attachments
  6. Add indents on the sides to create a bag shape
  7. Allow the piece to get leather-hard
  8. Cut a spooky face
  9. Cut angles at the top of the bag
  10. Bisque fire to cone 04
  11. Apply 3 coats of TP-65 Pumpkin on the interior and 3 coats of TP-1 Coal Black on the exterior
  12. Glaze fire to cone 05
