Cups & Their Counterparts with Melissa Weiss

Join us in the studio for a weekend workshop with Asheville potter, Melissa Weiss!

In this two-day all levels handbuilding intensive, Melissa will guide participants through a range of vessel-making techniques centered around cups and their many counterparts — mugs, goblets, yunomi, handled forms, footed cups, and more. She’ll demonstrate her approach to surface decoration using wax resist, underglaze, and slips, offering insight into the relationship between form and finish. Throughout the workshop there will be plenty of space for conversation as Melissa shares insights developed over her many years of making beautiful functional pots.
