Figurative Ceramics with Janina Myronova

Event Description

Join ceramic artist Janina Myronowa at Clayroom SoMa for a two-day immersive workshop focused on figurative sculpture and storytelling through clay. Participants will explore handbuilding techniques used in Janina’s sculptural practice while developing their own unique ceramic figures. Throughout the workshop, Janina will guide participants through the process of creating expressive sculptural forms using slab building, pinching, and coil building techniques. The class will focus on building character, gesture, composition, and individuality within ceramic sculpture, while also introducing approaches to surface decoration with underglazes.
