Surface Design with Taylor Sijan

Event Description
Learn how to create layered surfaces on your ceramic work in this two-day workshop! In this skill-building session, Taylor will demonstrate how she creates rich surfaces on unfired clay using stamping, slip trailing, carving, and painted gradients of colorful underglaze over paper resists. Students will experiment with slip trailing and impressions on soft tile and underglaze painting on bone dry tile. Strategies for fixing mistakes, selecting color palettes, and creating interesting compositions will be discussed throughout the workshop.
Breakfast + lunch provided - Open Studio 5-8pm.
