Create a custom glaze palette with AMACO Crawl glazes

AMACO Crawl glazes are so much fun to use! They create dimensional beads over raw clay or underglazes, or a crackly layered effect when used over Celadons or other cone 5-6 glazes. If that’s not enough, they are completely intermixable! You can mix them to get custom-colored Crawl colors!

Try it out today! Here are our test tiles for a few of the mixtures we tried. We used ratios of 1:1 and 1:3 in our mixes to make them easy to follow.

Tips for mixing glazes: Use more white than you think you will need to create a tint, and use less black than you think you need to create a shade.

Lava Lamp Glaze Info: Top/ Bottom of Vase - PC-69 Cosmic Gold Dust; Vase Center: V-322 Purple with VS-387 Bright Red sprayed over. 1:3 Ratio of CR-58 Red mixed with CR-61 Speckled Yellow over underglaze in the middle section. Fired to cone 5, on A-Mix White Stoneware No.11.

As a reminder for creating any custom blends, we recommend creating test tiles and testing your mixtures prior to applying them over an entire piece. Check out custom Crawl mixes below!
