Create a Cozy Fall Glaze Palette: Our Picks for Autumn Ceramics
Fall is around the corner, and everyone here at AMACO is ready for the cozy weather. With the change of season also comes new inspiration for warm, rich colors in everyone's glaze palette! To help kick-start your fall glaze restock, we've compiled a list of perfect colors for your studio shelves that reflect autumn's hues and mood.
We've got everyone covered, from low-fire to mid-high-fire artists. Starting with lowfire, here are the glazes that would fit perfectly into every fall palette.
Low-Fire Glazes for a Cozy Fall Palette:

AMACO Low Fire Gloss glazes, also known as LGs, are beautiful, smooth, glossy glazes that look great on low-fire red and white clay bodies!

AMACO Opalescent glazes are a hidden gem in the community of low-fire glazes. The Opalescents are great for those wanting to achieve high fire looks, but at cone 05. Plus, they look AMAZING over red clay bodies, especially AMACO No.67 Sedona Red Clay.

Moving on to the Cone 5/6 range, also known as mid-high fire, AMACO offers a plethora of fall-inspired colors for your studios!
Mid-High Fire Glazes for a Warm and Rich Fall Palette:

Starting off strong with some selections from the Potter's Choice line, PC-29 Deep Olive Speckle and PC-52 Deep Sienna Speckle are great additions to any fall glaze selection. The warm, translucent green with little black speckles of PC-29 mimics the colors of the leaves as we head into cooler weather. Pair that with PC-52 to showcase the color of sugar maples in Autumn or hot apple cider!

As we expand the palette, Potter's Choice Flux glazes offer some more depth. PCF-74 River Birch evokes the beautiful patterns of birch tree trunks. Pair that with a Celadon glaze, such as C-36 Iron or C-57 Mulberry, for fabulous results! To round out the palette, adding some stable and richly colored Satin Matte glazes can help take any piece to the next level!
Pumpkins glaze info: PC-56 Ancient Copper on pumpkin bodies with PC-29 Deep Olive Speckle on the stems, fired to cone 5.

As the world heads into a new season, we hope everyone enjoys the cooling weather and changing colors! Have fun in the studio and happy glazing!
