Kick Off 2026 with Amaco glazes!
There have been so many changes this year, I think we’re all due for a little bliss. Let’s explore how to bring joy and serenity into our lives this year with color!
Blue is always a color that brings calm, and this year we delight in saturated shades. A long-standing favorite is C-20 Cobalt Celadon, a glossy glaze that stays right where you put it. It breaks slightly over textured surfaces and serves as a great base for layering.
Want a blue that’s new and different? Try the new PC-18 Tuscan Blue, a rich, satiny blue that breaks over texture and gives a weathered vibe.
Feel fresh and bright with warm orange colors like C-65 Tangelo or SH-51 Hibiscus Gloss Shino. Tangelo is a soft orange glaze, translucent, and stable. Use it over white clay for the best results and a pop of color.
For an earthier shade, SH-51 Hibiscus Gloss is a warm orange-pink salmon shade that breaks a warm brown. Beautiful on textured surfaces and a variety of clay bodies, it’s a softly rustic glaze.
Bring the lively greens of growth and renewal into your palette with glazes like SM-46 Moss Satin Matte. This opaque glaze is buttery to the touch and has the color of a leaf.
Pantone has named their color of 2026: Cloud Dancer, a creamy white. It’s a match for our ever-popular PC-17 Honey Flux. Honey Flux is lovely on any color clay, even black clays. It’s gorgeous when layered, and a perfect liner glaze as well.
Feel grounded with a soft gray like SH-22 Acai Matte Shino. A soft blue-gray glaze that breaks darker, use Acai Matte on pieces that you want to embody your connection to the earth. More satiny at cone 6, more matte at cone 5.
Cool off with icy pastels like KI-18 Arctic Blush. This pale pink glaze with a hint of lavender crackles like layers of snowflakes. Shown here on Amaco Dark Chocolate clay 32M, the cracks are dramatic. All the Kiln Ice glazes are frosty pastel hues, from warm green and aqua to pale yellow and white.
Soften your mood with PC-57 Smokey Merlot, a hazy purple glaze. Smokey Merlot is beautiful on its own but also gives a dramatic pop when layered over glazes like Obsidian or Honey Flux. Layer over PC-12 Blue Midnight for a deep royal purple color.
